In order to further promote the research related to the realization of the dual-carbon goal, to strengthen the exchange and cooperation of disciplines, to explore the research potential, to form the research synergy, to build the research team and brand, Carbon Neutral Forum of Carbon Neutral Research Institute of Tianjin University of Science and Technology (CNRI), together with the College of Economics and Management, organizes this dual-carbon academic salon activity. Associate Professor Wen Danhui, Vice President of the Institute, was invited to introduce the comprehensive models and applications developed by the Institute. In the future, the salon will continue to be held to share the methodology and hot and difficult issues research. Interested teachers and students are welcome to attend!

Expert Introduction:

Wen Danhui, Associate Professor, Deputy Director of Carbon Neutral Research Institute of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Master's tutor, presided over three provincial and ministerial-level projects such as the Humanities and Social Sciences Project of the Ministry of Education of China, the Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Project of Tianjin Municipality, and the Science and Technology Planning Project of Tianjin Municipality, and participated in many national projects such as the National Key Project of Social Sciences and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 20 academic papers in journals of Operations Research and Management, the Journal of Systems Engineering, and Systems Engineering. He is the main author of the Climate Change 2022 Report of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an expert on Tianjin Think Tank and Tianjin University Think Tank, and has been awarded two Tianjin Think Tank Outstanding Consulting Achievement Awards. Research Expertise: Specialized in CGE modeling and comprehensive evaluation models in the field of energy, environment, and economy, presided over the construction of the comprehensive energy, economy, and environment evaluation model of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, covering computable general model, energy planning model, environment and pollutant analysis module, and made positive contributions to the evaluation of the national, regional, and industrial energy, environment, and green development policies.

Carbon Neutral Research Institute:

The Carbon Neutral Research Institute (CNRI) of Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST) was established in September 2021 in response to the requirements of the dual-carbon target. As the first carbon-neutral research institute under the leadership of Tianjin universities, it will be based in Tianjin, serve the whole country, face the world, and give full play to the advantages of the scientific, technological, economic, managerial and legal disciplines of the University of Science and Technology of Tianjin, and carry out research work in the areas of carbon neutral strategic planning, policy design, technological development and services, standardization, green finance, carbon neutral authentication, capacity building, carbon asset management of enterprises, international exchanges and cooperation, and the impacts of and responses to carbon tariffs. The research work is carried out in all aspects, such as carbon tariff impact and response. The Institute has already cooperated with many enterprises and universities in the preparation of a number of standards and will continue to make its voice heard in the field of carbon emission and carbon-neutral standard preparation in the future. Meanwhile, the Institute has cooperated with top domestic organizations to introduce and develop a number of research tools, laying a solid foundation for the construction of modeling tools based on independent databases.
