The Experimental Teaching Center of the College of Economics and Management was established in 1995.As a key experimental center of the school, it is a demonstration center for experimental teaching in ordinary colleges and universities in Tianjin. Relying on 13 undergraduate majors in economics and management, it conducts professional experiments and comprehensive training for the whole school.
1. Adequate resources to meet teaching needs
·Basic environment
The Experimental Teaching Center has undergone continuous investment from national comprehensive investment planning projects, national and local university joint construction projects, Tianjin University of Science and Technology subsidized loan projects, and other projects.At present, it has 35 laboratories with a total area of over 2800 square meters.It has 1235 sets of experimental teaching equipment with a total value of 16.43 million yuan.
The experimental center includes a financial trading hall, a case analysis and confrontation room, a big data service center, a sand table simulation training room, a full industry chain logistics training room, a smart finance training room, a big data laboratory, a digital course recording room, a simulation teaching laboratory, a financial supermarket, a computing room, an Internet of Things laboratory, a practical teaching research room, an experimental economics research room, and other laboratories.
With the support of server clusters and interconnectivity between off campus and on campus networks, the Experimental Teaching Center has practical teaching software such as CSMAR Quantitative Terminal Software, CSMAR China Economic and Financial Research Database, CSMAR Comprehensive Multi screen Management Software, CSMAR Securities Investment Training System, Tonghuashun Financial Database, CSMAR Bank Credit Business and Bank Comprehensive Business Simulation System, Yunze Business Negotiation Software, Higher Education Press International Trade Document Training System, Economics Sand Table, ERP Sand Table, Kingdee Management Software, etc.

In response to the teaching needs of the "Internet plus" course, the Experimental Center continued to increase investment in network resources and smart teaching:
Systematization Highlights. The experimental center has built a big data service center with 32 servers and 2 sets of VMware virtual machines. It is connected to the Internet and laboratories. Being able to provide CS/BS based training software and teaching data resource services for practical teaching 24 hours a day;
Personalization Highlights. The experimental center has built a financial trading hall, which includes a 15 square meter splicing large screen, a 10 square meter cylindrical ceiling LED screen, an intelligent blackboard, Huawei tablets, and many combinable trapezoidal tables. It is authentic, interactive, and personalized.The experimental center has also built an intelligent case group adversarial seminar room, which utilizes intelligent recording and behavior analysis systems, smart blackboards, student terminals and dedicated screens, physical exhibition booths, etc
Integration Highlights. The experimental center has connected and integrated scattered logistics and production experimental equipment to build a logistics training center. It includes raw material procurement, warehousing, production, packaging, transportation, shelving, and sales, covering the entire industry chain.
Through nearly two years of application, teaching services with intelligence, interactivity, and big data have provided teachers and students with different teaching experiences. At present, the Experimental Teaching Center has 48 full-time teachers and 62 part-time teachers. Undertook 51 experimental courses and 312 experimental projects. The software and hardware resources, as well as the teaching staff, can fully meet the demand for cultivating a master's degree in finance.
2. Smart management, crossing time and space boundaries
The Experimental Teaching Center focuses on both virtual and real aspects. While building a physical simulation laboratory, it also achieves intelligent management through a cloud platform. It digitizes and stores experimental teaching resources in the fields of economics and management. It adopts a B/S software architecture, expanding the "limited physical space" into "unlimited virtual applications", allowing teachers and students to access teaching resources at any time and any place. At the same time, it can achieve dynamic intelligent management through cloud based platforms, computer network based communication platforms, and sensors and controllers as perception and control nerve endings. This includes the management of the portal website of the experimental center, self-service use of the venue, remote management of equipment, safety monitoring and early warning, and open reservation. It keeps the experimental center in an open and circulating state, forming a large platform for intra school sharing, inter school communication, and multi-party linkage.
