Introduction to Logistics Management Program

The Logistics Management major at Tianjin University of Science and Technology has been enrolled since 2006. In 2011, it was recognized by the local authority as the major contributor to strategic emerging industries in Tianjin. In 2020, it was approved for applicants to take the national first-class undergraduate majors. In 2021, the Ministry of Education approved it as a pilot major for constructing "new liberal arts" in logistics management and engineering. This major adheres to the fundamental task of "cultivating morality and talent", the concept of "integrating culture and industry" construction, and the teaching philosophy of "thick foundation, wide caliber, and emphasis on characteristics". It adopts a training mode of "broad foundation, emphasis on practice, strong ability, and outstanding characteristics" to cultivate high-quality innovative intelligent logistics and supply chain management talents with good scientific and cultural literacy, a high sense of social responsibility, and international vision, who have comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. This major has a first-level master's program in Management Science and Engineering and a second-level master's program in Logistics Management and is an important research direction of the fifth key discipline "Management Science and Engineering" in Tianjin. As a highly practical major, we emphasize combining theory and practice, strengthening school-enterprise cooperation, and having multiple enterprise practical teaching bases such as JD, Zhonggu, and Zhongmu. We have successfully applied for and been approved as a "Digital Trade" school-level modern industry college. This major has a faculty team with high professional competence, strong research ability, and reasonable age and professional structure. There are 20 full-time teachers, including three professors and eight associate professors. Many teachers have doctoral degrees, and many teachers have overseas study experience. After nearly 20 years of development, this major has trained many outstanding graduates and has achieved remarkable results in curriculum construction, industry education integration, and innovation and entrepreneurship education.
