Introduction of the Industrial Engineering Program
Industrial Engineering integrates engineering and quantitative analysis methods with knowledge of social sciences and management sciences. In response to the domestic and international dual-circulation development strategy and the new demands of Tianjin's 1+3+4 intelligent technology industry development, it highlights the informatization of engineering and intelligent manufacturing in the Internet era, as well as the integrated development of the three chains: the logistics supply chain, the industrial chain, and the value chain. It conducts quantitative analysis, optimization, and design of practical management problems in various integrated systems, including production systems, service systems, and organizational systems. The degree education in this professional field encompasses four main directions: Production and Service System Engineering and Management, Quality Management, System Human Factors and Safety Management, and Lean Management. The Master of Industrial Engineering and Management professional degree aims to cultivate high-level, application-oriented engineering management professionals. These professionals are expected to master the basic principles of Marxism and the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, possess good political qualities and professional ethics, master systematic engineering management theories, as well as the basic and specialized knowledge of related engineering fields. They should have strong capabilities in planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating, and decision-making, and be able to independently take on engineering management work.
The development goals of this professional degree education are: based on the coastal industry, serving the development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and implementing the "Research and Teaching Excellence" and "Discipline Peak" action plan of our university's "Pioneer Plan"; Based on the existing discipline foundation and teaching and research platform, the project management personnel training model combining theoretical education and practical education should be built to give full play to the advantages of school-enterprise cooperation, enrich students' engineering management practice and broaden their career development direction.
