Good News | Student from Sino-Australian Cooperative Financial Management Program Claims First Prize in Tianjin Division of the 6th "Telling China's Stories in English" Contest

The Tianjin Provincial Final of the 6th "Telling China's Stories in English" Contest was held recently. Chen Silin, a Grade 2025 student majoring in Financial Management (Sino-Australian Cooperative Program) from our school, stood out among competitors from numerous universities in Tianjin and won the first prize of the provincial final with fluent English, distinctive perspectives and confident demeanor.

Centered on cross-cultural communication, the contest comprehensively evaluated students foreign language proficiency and cultural critical thinking through themed speeches and impromptu Q&A sessions. During the preparation period, Guo Jie, teacher-in-charge of the cooperative program, offered thoughtful guidance throughout the whole process. She provided all-round training including polishing speech themes, refining linguistic logic, standardizing stage manners and practicing on-the-spot responses. Giving full play to the bilingual educational advantages of the Sino-foreign cooperative program, she guided the student to tell stories about Chinas development in the new era.

Drawing on her professional knowledge, Chen Silin carried forward Chinese cultural heritage with the voice of youth. She fully embodied the profound patriotism and broad global vision of students from Sino-foreign cooperative programs, earning high praise from all judges on site.

For years, the School of Economics and Management has strived to advance international talent cultivation for the Sino-Australian Financial Management Program, integrating foreign language practice and cultural confidence cultivation into every stage of talent training. Taking this competition award as an opportunity, the school will keep building platforms for language practice and presentation, cultivating more interdisciplinary talents with solid professional expertise and outstanding cross-cultural communication competence.
